How often can I request a report?
You are entitled to receive one free report from each of the three agencies every 12 months.

Should I order my report from all three agencies at once or spread them out over 12 months?
It is your choice whether to order all three at once or spread the requests out over the course of the year. The advantage of getting them all at once is they can be easily compared, and since not all creditors report to all three agencies, you will be able to get a complete view of your credit-related records at a given point in time. The advantage of spreading out your requests from the three agencies is that you will be able to more frequently monitor changes to your reports.

Is it safe to provide my Social Security Number to annualcreditreport.com?
The site’s security features are designed to protect all personally identifiable information. For added security, you can choose to have your report display only the last four digits of your Social Security number.

How will the site confirm my identity?
Your identity will be confirmed by the personal identification information you provide, your Social Security number and certain questions you will be asked to answer. If your identity cannot be authenticated for online delivery of your report, you will receive instructions on how to get delivery by mail. Authentication failure is not an indication of fraudulent activity or identity theft.

Will the reports include my credit score?
The reports will not include your credit score, which is a mathematical formula used by lenders to help determine whether a person qualifies for a particular credit card, loan or service. The scoring system estimates the probability that a person will make payments on time for the next two to three years. If you would like your credit score included, you may request it with your free credit report for an additional fee.
