On Tuesday, Sept. 2, Mid American Credit Union will roll out our new online banking system.

What’s new and improved with this system

  • Login will be based on a username and a password you select. Account numbers won’t be used for logging in except for your first login on the new system.
  • Customize your account page with the options you use the most
  • More options for alerts about events, balance notifications, when items clear and more
  • Easier password reset options

Online Banking Details

Some details you need to know or take action on by Friday, Aug. 29:

  • The current desktop banking, telephone teller and mobile banking systems will go offline 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 and will be unavailable until  approximately midday Tuesday, Sept. 2. You will also be unable to do shared branching transactions.
  • You will have ATM access to your account, but we also recommend visit one of our branches or use an in-network ATM prior to the Labor Day holiday weekend.
  • If you need documentation of your account history, please print the history before it goes offline – your account history under the old system will not be viewable online in the new system.
  • Prior statements from the current system for 2014 will be viewable in the new system.
  • Any current account alerts and reoccurring transfers will be converted to the new system. Please double-check this, however, when you log into the new system for the first time.
  • The current Bill Payer system will no longer be available after Wednesday, Aug. 27. Any regular scheduled payments will continue, however. Our new Bill Payer system will premiere within Online Banking Sept. 2.

Using The New Online Banking System

Starting Sept. 2, here’s what you’ll need to do to use the new online banking system:

  • Look for the new direct login feature in the same place you’ve been using for Member Login (upper right hand corner of

  • On the next page, enter your current desktop banking password in the password field. You must enter all letters in lowercase form, even if your current desktop banking password contains uppercase letters.
  • Follow the prompts to set up your new Online Banking ID, password, security image and questions

Conversion FAQs


Q: I am logging in for the first time. What do I enter as the Online Banking ID and my Online Banking password?

A: The first time you log into the new Online Banking tool, you will use your Mid American account number as your Online Banking ID. On the next page you will be asked to enter in your current desktop banking password. (All letters will need to be entered as lowercase, even if your password contains uppercase letters.) You will then need to create a new Online Banking ID and a new Online Banking password.

Q: Are there any guidelines on creating my new Online Banking ID?

A: Your new Online Banking ID cannot be your Mid American account number. Your new Online Banking ID must be between 6 to 10 characters long. No special characters are allowed.

Q: Are there any guidelines on creating a new Online Banking password?

A: Your new Online Banking password must be between 6 to 10 characters long. A strong password will be a combination of letters, numbers and special characters. The following special characters may be used: ! ” # $ % & ( ) + - / : < = > ? [ ^ _ ‘ { | } * ‘

Q: Will I need to select a new security image and questions?

A: Yes, you will be prompted to select a new personal icon image. You will also be asked to select three different questions and provide the appropriate answers as your new security questions. You will also be asked to provide information that will allow you to reset your password.

Q: What if I forget my password?

A: You have the option to retrieve your password if you forget by choosing the Forgot My Password link on the password screen. You’ll have to enter your Online Banking ID and your email information on file in order to receive an email to help you retrieve your password.

Q: Will I be able to reset my password by myself or will I be frozen out of my account?

A: You will have the ability to reset your password yourself, if necessary. For your security, you will be asked to respond to the password reset security question and answer that you should have set up the first time you logged into the new Online Banking tool. If you make too many unsuccessful or invalid login attempts, your account will be frozen. You’ll be able to reset your password but your account will be frozen and you won’t be able to log in until a Mid American staff member helps you unfreeze the account.

Q: What are the benefits of this new system?

A: The new Online Banking system will give you so many more options to review your account and handle transactions than you had under the old Desktop Banking system. And more are on the way.  Here are a few of the benefits:

  • You can customize the way you look at your account information by going to MyMACU.
  • In the Services section, you can change your address, find out loan payoff information and opt in for overdraft protection.
  • You can be notified through Alerts (found in the Settings section) about a whole variety of account activities, such as transfers, account balances going up or down a certain dollar amount, when a certain check clears, an incoming ACH credit, a maturing certificate and more.

Q: Is mobile banking still available?

A: Our current mobile banking system will go offline Aug. 29, 2014. We recommend deleting or uninstalling the Mid American app as a new one will be available for download from the App Store and Google Play sometime on Sept. 2.  Starting Sept. 2, we will have a new URL optimized for mobile browsing:

Q: Is Bill Payer still available”

A: Yes, it is. The Bill Payer system will no longer function after Wednesday, Aug. 27, but regular, scheduled payments will continue. The new Bill Payer system will premiere with the Online Banking tool Sept. 2.

Q: Will my account history convert?

A: It was not possible for your account history to convert. However you will be able to view all of your account statements for 2014.

Q: I use Quicken. Can I still use that software?

A: Yes, however you will need to download your history file by Friday, Aug. 29, and reactivate your capability to download your account history when our new Online Banking tool becomes available Sept. 2. 

Q: I’ve been unsuccessful in logging into the new system. Can I talk to someone?
