VAU is a new service from Visa that automatically updates your debit or credit card information at participating merchants when a card is replaced because it expired or was lost or compromised. VAU is now active for Mid American debit cards, with credit cards coming at a later date.

Why do I need this service?

If you use your card for recurring payments, VAU will update your card details for you. You won't have to worry about any automatic payments being declined, such as those for:

• Utility bills
• Cell phone service
• Subscriptions
• Health club memberships

Do all merchants participate?

Participation for merchants is optional, so it is a good idea to ask the merchant or to double check that your card information is updated when it changes.

Can I opt out of VAU?

Enrollment in VAU is automatic, but you can opt out of the program if you prefer. Contact us by one of the following methods:
